Guillermoreturnstohiscellbeforeeveryonewakesup,andlistensasthevampiresdiscusshisfate.Whentheyhearhimmove,Guillermoreturnstohiscellandlockshimselfup.Nandorcomesdownandaskshowhisfamiliarisholdingout,andadmitsthatitslikelytheyllkillGuillermo. Thefamiliarsaysthathesasoldierandlivesbythecodeofthewarrior.NandoragreesandbringsmorerawchickenforGuillermo.Thevampirethengoes,turningthelightson. Guillermohasputupsecuritycameratokeepaneyeonthevampires,andseesbatscirclingthehouse.ColinreportsthatGuillermoisntsendingoutsecretmessagesbutwillcontinuetocheckGuillermosbucket. Avampireenterstheroomasmist.Guillermorunsinandkillsit.Thefemalevampire,theGuide,survives,andsaysthatsheisnttheretokillanyone.ShecongratulatesGuillermoonbeingavampire-hunter,andsaysthattheyhadntheardfromthembutsent87ravensasmessengers.Theyalsotriedtousethetelephone,butitsGuillermosjobtoanswerthephoneandhewaslockedup. ColinbringsGuillermotothem,andNandorsaysthattheirfinaldecisionaboutGuillermoisthattheywontkillhimfornow.TheyvedecidedtomakeGuillermoafully-fledgedmemberoftheteam,butnotavampire.Insteadtheyregoingtomakehimavampiresbodyguard.Guillermotakesitratherthandie,andthevampiresacceptGuillermosacceptance. BeforethevampiresremovethechainsfromGuillermo,theyusefour-wayhypnosisonhimandLaszlowarnsthattheoddsofGuillermobeingmentallystableafterwardareslim.Guillermoagrees,andtheytrytohypnotizehim. Guillermotellsthefilmcrewthatafteryearsofthevampireshypnotizinghim,hesimmunetovampirichypnosis.Hejustletsthemthinktheycanhypnotizehim. ThevampireshypnotizeGuillermotoneverharmthem,andheplaysalongwhenhecomesoutofhis"trance". Thenextnight,theGuidetakesthegrouptothelocalCouncilbuildingandshowsthemaround.WraithDancerscomeinandgivethevampirestheirCouncilRobes,andaskswhichonewillassumetheMastersThrone.TheGuideexplainsthatonlyoneofthemcanbeSupremeLeader.EverybodybutLaszloargueswhoshouldbetheSupreme
